Consolidated Edison (ConEd) & NY State Utilities Solar Tariff FAQ
Can my ConEd solar credits offset the monthly CBC charge?
No. The Customer Benefit Contribution (CBC) and the basic $19 monthly service charge cannot be offset by banked kWh net metering credits and must be paid in cash each month.
Do ConEd Phase One NEM kWh credits expire after 12 months?
No! Under NY Phase One NEM, unused kWh credits roll over month-to-month for 20 years from interconnection without an annual wholesale cash-out forfeiture.
