2. Educational & Informational Purpose Only (Not Financial or Tax Advice)

All solar production estimates, financial payback periods, utility bill offsets, and incentive analyses generated by Solar Ledger are provided solely for general educational and informational purposes.

• Mathematical Models: Production estimates are derived from NLR PVWatts V8 (National Laboratory) solar irradiance data using standard assumed tilt, orientation, and loss factors. Actual energy generation depends on local weather patterns, micro-shading, roof condition, equipment performance, and degradation.
• Regulatory & Tariff Variability: Utility rates, net metering rules, and state solar tax credits change frequently through public utility commission dockets and legislative action. While we date-stamp and verify every number against primary sources, we cannot guarantee future tariff stability or utility policy continuation.
• Consult Professionals: The calculations do not constitute binding quotes, certified engineering layouts, or formal tax/accounting advice. Always consult a licensed electrical contractor and a qualified tax professional before entering into any solar installation or financing contract.

3. Independent Platform — No Sales, Lead Brokerage, or Affiliation

Solar Ledger is an independent research platform. We do not sell solar panels, batteries, or balance-of-system equipment, nor do we perform installations or sell user information to solar lead aggregators. References to specific manufacturers, hardware models (e.g., Enphase, REC, Tesla, SolarEdge), or utility providers are made strictly for computational identification and editorial reporting.

4. Intellectual Property & Citation

The original code, interface design, editorial guides, and comparative analyses on Solar Ledger are the proprietary work of Solar Ledger. You may cite excerpts or reference our findings provided appropriate attribution and a direct link back to Solar Ledger are included.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Solar Ledger, its developers, or contributors be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, our calculators or published documentation, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
