Pennsylvania solar calculator

Live production from NLR (formerly NREL) PVWatts V8. Pennsylvania has full 1:1 retail net metering on PECO (modeled here ~21¢/kWh), PPL, Duquesne, and other IOUs (Title 52, Ch. 75; up to 50 kW). Fresh news: PPL has filed a rate case to shift exports to hourly LMP-based credits mid-to-late 2026, which could cut export value 40–60% (similar to California NEM 3.0). PECO remains 1:1. Pennsylvania is unusual: it's the only Northeast state with NO solar tax benefits — no state income tax credit, sales tax NOT exempt (6% applies ~$2,300), and property tax NOT exempt (~$450/year ongoing). What carries PA is high retail (~$0.21) and a real live SREC market ($25–40/SREC, ~$250–480/year typical residential — NOT modeled here because prices are volatile). PECO/PPL also levy a ~$10–15/month fixed charge solar doesn't offset. Defaults: south-facing roof mount, 20° tilt, 14% losses.

Try (Philadelphia), (Allentown), (Bethlehem) — any valid US ZIP for this state also works.
