Live production from NLR (formerly NREL) PVWatts V8. New York residential customers can still choose legacy 1:1 retail-rate net metering instead of VDER — this calculator models the legacy 1:1 case on Con Edison. Plus a 25% / $5,000 state income tax credit (NY Tax Law §606(g-1), Form IT-255), state and local sales tax exemption, and a 15-year property tax exemption (NYC adds its own abatement on top). VDER (the Value Stack) and NY-Sun upfront rebates exist but vary by region/MW-block/time — not modeled by default. Note: the federal 30% solar credit is gone in 2026 — ignore any quote that still includes it. Defaults: south-facing roof mount, 20° tilt, 14% losses.
