Live production from NLR (formerly NREL) PVWatts V8. Idaho is a 3-utility / 3-mechanism state — the utility serving you matters more than in most US states. Idaho Power (southern ID, largest, default modeled): net billing since Jan 1, 2024 (Idaho PUC Order Dec 29 2023), Export Credit Rate (ECR) averaging about $0.05/kWh ToU (PUC ordered −31% cut effective Oct 2025). Idaho Power retail ~$0.10/kWh. Rocky Mountain Power (eastern): currently 1:1 retail under Schedules 6 / 136 — but Schedule 136 (Feb 2025) proposed cutting export to ~$0.04 + 12-mo expiry, status unconfirmed. Avista (northern): 1:1 retail BUT credits forfeit every March 31 (no multi-year rollover). Pre-Dec 20, 2019 Idaho Power systems grandfathered to legacy net metering through 2045 (not modeled). State INCOME TAX DEDUCTION (NOT a credit — SmartEnergyUSA wrong): Idaho § 63-3022C, 40% year 1 + 20% × 3 years, max $5,000/yr ($20,000 total deductible base), worth about $1,160 in actual tax savings at the 5.8% ID rate. Property tax EXEMPT under § 63-602LL (multiple sources wrongly claim NOT exempt — the statute proves them wrong). Sales tax (6%) NOT exempt — about $1,400-1,700 added cost. NO SREC, NO RPS, NO state battery rebate. Federal §25D = $0 (OBBBA repeal). Defaults: south- facing roof mount, 20° tilt, 14% losses.

Try (Boise), (Pocatello), (Coeur d'Alene) — any valid US ZIP for this state also works.
